According to an interview with Forbes, McCaleb plans to channel a substantial portion of his estimated $3.9 billion in XRP holdings into AGI research, a field that aims to create intelligent systems capable of understanding and learning any intellectual task that a human can perform. This decision follows his earlier commitment of $1 billion to develop a private space station projected for completion in 2025.
McCaleb’s new venture will be spearheaded through the Astera Institute, a California-based non-profit organization he founded. Alongside the $1 billion earmarked for AGI, McCaleb has also pledged an additional $600 million specifically dedicated to neuroscience research.
